General Session: Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics Job Readiness in Indiana
Conexus Indiana was awarded an Innovative Curriculum grant to launch an advanced manufacturing and logistics (AML) high school internship program in 2015. This program uses an industry-driven framework that allows for broad-based implementation across Indiana, while dispelling the myth that high school students under 18 are not able to participate in AML internship experiences. Called the “Conexus Interns Program,” the goal of the program is to convert current advanced manufacturing and logistics students to employees or post-secondary students in the AML field. This panel will give an overview of the Conexus Interns Program, as well as share experiences and outcomes from the pilot year. Industry representatives on the panel are Janet White from Helmer Scientific, Karen Mellen from Haynes International and Laura Hornback from Kauffman Engineering.

General Session: Statebook
IEDA is exploring the opportunity to give every LEDO in Indiana the opportunity have its own StateBook subscription for free to access StateBook's robust, independent data and tools and create a unique, marketing microsite within StateBook. Since more than 90% of site selection decisions are made online, before an LEDO is ever contacted, StateBook provides a powerful tool to state your case - even before you know your region is being considered for investment.

Calandra Cruickshank, President/CEO of StateBook will be providing an overview of the StateBook platform during the afternoon session of the IEDA Spring Conference. Members will be asked to provide their reactions to the web site and vote if they would take advantage of the free subscription.
